£190 Million Reference: Former Minister Zubaida Jalal, Former Principal Secretary Azam Khan's Statement Recorded

During the hearing of the £190 million reference in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail, the statements of former Minister of State Zubaida Jalal and former Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Imran Khan, Azam Khan, were recorded.

Judge Muhammad Ali Warraich conducted the hearing of the £190 million reference in Adiala Jail. PTI founder and former First Lady Bushra Bibi were presented in court. The legal team of NAB and the lawyers of the PTI founder were also present.

Former Defense Minister Pervez Khattak, former Minister of State Zubaida Jalal, and former Principal Secretary Azam Khan, who were part of former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s cabinet, appeared in court. The statements of Zubaida Jalal and Azam Khan were recorded.

The court decided to cross-examine the statements of Pervez Khattak, Zubaida Jalal, and Azam Khan in the next hearing and adjourned the case until July 20.

A bail application was filed by the PTI founder in the new NAB reference. The court issued a notice to NAB for July 15 in this regard.

It is noteworthy that in the Al-Qadir Trust case, it is alleged that Imran Khan and his wife received billions of rupees and hundreds of kanals of land from Bahria Town Limited in exchange for legitimizing £50 billion sent by the UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA) to the Government of Pakistan during PTI’s tenure.

This case pertains to the alleged illegal acquisition and construction of land for Al-Qadir University, in which illegal benefits were allegedly obtained in the recovery of £140 million through the UK’s NCA in a money laundering case against Malik Riaz and his family.

Imran Khan is also accused of misleading the cabinet by concealing facts related to the agreement, under which £140 million was received. This amount was supposed to be deposited into the national treasury but was instead adjusted against Bahria Town Karachi’s liabilities of £450 billion.
