Sheikh Waqas Akram Denies Reports of PTI Protest in Islamabad on December 7

PTI Central Secretary of Information, Sheikh Waqas Akram, has refuted claims about a protest in Islamabad on December 7, labeling the reports as baseless.

Speaking on a private TV program, PTI Central Secretary of Information, Sheikh Waqas Akram highlighted the spread of fake news, stating, “It’s being said that a new party chairman has been appointed, and Salman Akram Raja has been removed from his position. These are false claims. Salman Akram Raja continues to serve in his role.”

PTI Central Secretary of Information, Sheikh Waqas Akram clarified that there is no decision or announcement from Asad Qaiser or the party regarding a protest in Islamabad on December 7.

Internal Challenges and Clarifications
PTI Central Secretary of Information, emphasized the party’s focus on internal issues, stating, “We will handle our matters internally; there’s no need to air them publicly. Many of our people are still missing, and we have records of everything.”

Regarding key challenges, he noted, “The martyrdoms of our workers in Islamabad and the release of our party founder are significant hurdles we face right now.”

Addressing rumors, he clarified, “Mashal Yousafzai does not hold any position within the party; she is merely a personal spokesperson for Bushra Bibi.”

Condemnation of Misinformation and Call for Justice
Sheikh Waqas criticized claims that no shootings occurred at D-Chowk, pointing out the contradictory statements from authorities. “First, it was said no shots were fired; then, it was claimed that shots were fired to prevent a crossing at D-Chowk,” he remarked.

He further stressed, “We showed footage of the funerals in our press conference. International media has also reported on the killings of our workers. We demand a high-level judicial commission to investigate the matter thoroughly.”

He revealed that as of yesterday, the party had confirmed data on the deaths of 12 workers. “We are not making accusations; we speak with evidence. The state should act like a nurturing mother, and its patience should not run out,” he said.

Shaukat Yousafzai’s Response
On the other hand, PTI leader Shaukat Yousafzai said he had no knowledge of a protest call for December 7, learning about it through the media.

“Protesting isn’t a crime. A former prime minister is being subjected to revenge tactics — sometimes bright lights are kept on in his room, or curtains are removed during harsh winters,” he added.

He denied any connection with Bushra Bibi’s sister and questioned, “If Bushra Bibi opposed not going to D-Chowk, why did the party back down? Decisions of a political party cannot be dictated by one individual.”

Shaukat also stated that actions against those who failed to reach Islamabad would be taken by the party, not by Bushra Bibi.
