National Assembly Speaker Convenes First Meeting of Government and PTI Negotiation Committees

National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has officially summoned the first meeting of the Government and PTI Negotiation committees representing the government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). This pivotal session is scheduled to take place tomorrow at 11:30 AM in his chamber at the Parliament House.

In a statement, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq emphasized his commitment to fostering dialogue and collaboration between the two sides. He warmly welcomed the formation of the Government and PTI Negotiation committee on the Prime Minister’s directive, appreciating the effort as a positive step towards resolving issues through dialogue. “The move by the Top state leader to address debates through talks is praiseworthy and convenient,” he commented.

The Speaker expressed his sincere intentions by inviting both the government and opposition to engage in discussions with an open heart. He reiterated, “The Speaker’s office remains accessible to all members, as progress can only be achieved through meaningful conversations and mutual understanding.”

Government’s Proactive Measures for Dialogue

In response to Speaker Ayaz Sadiq’s recommendation, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has established a comprehensive negotiation committee comprising key members of the ruling coalition. The government’s committee includes prominent figures such as Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Rana Sanaullah Khan, Senator Irfan Siddiqui, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Naveed Qamar, Aleem Khan, Chaudhry Salik Hussain and Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui.

On the opposition side, PTI’s delegation includes notable leaders such as Umar Ayub, Asad Qaiser, Salman Akram Raja, Ali Amin Gandapur, and Sahibzada Hamid Raza.

PTI’s Appeal for Speaker’s Mediation

This development follows PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar’s appeal last night to Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, urging him to play an active role in facilitating negotiations between PTI and the government. The PTI leadership stressed the need for dialogue to address the pressing issues facing the nation.

Speaker Ayaz Sadiq’s initiative is seen as a beacon of hope for breaking the political deadlock and steering the nation towards a path of unity and reconciliation. By bringing together both sides for constructive dialogue, the meeting is expected to lay the groundwork for addressing key challenges and fostering a spirit of cooperation.
