Another Bus Carrying Pakistani Pilgrims Meets with an Accident in Iran, 3 Dead and 48 Injured

A bus carrying Pakistani pilgrims in Iran collided with a truck, resulting in the death of 4 people and injuries to 48 others.

The Pakistani pilgrims were en route to Iraq via Iran to participate in Arba’in, the commemoration of Imam Hussain (RA), the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

According to Iran’s state news agency IRNA, a bus collided with a truck on the main road between the cities of Neyriz in Fars province and Sirjan in Kerman province, resulting in the death of three people and injuries to 48 others.

IRNA quoted Colonel Abdul Hashem, an official from the Fars Traffic Police, who stated that the accident occurred due to a “technical failure” in the brakes and the driver’s “inability to control the vehicle.”

Meanwhile, Iranian Mehr News Urdu reported, quoting the Governor of Neyriz, that the collision between the bus and the truck resulted in the deaths of 4 Pakistani pilgrims and injuries to 30 others.

This is the second road accident involving Pakistani pilgrims in less than a week. On August 21, a bus carrying Pakistani pilgrims met with a horrific accident in the Iranian city of Yazd, resulting in the deaths of 28 people.

The bus, en route from Iran to Iraq, was carrying 53 pilgrims when it crashed in Yazd.

CCTV footage of the accident showed the speeding bus overturning on a curve and skidding several feet. The accident was reportedly caused by a brake failure.

Moreover, Mehr News Urdu quoted Neyriz Governor Yaqub Khosrowani, confirming that 4 Pakistani pilgrims lost their lives in this incident, while 30 others were injured.

It is important to note that this is the second major accident in less than a week. On August 21, a bus carrying Pakistani pilgrims in the Iranian city of Yazd met with a horrific accident, resulting in the deaths of 28 people.
