An explosion occurred at Sar Khob Chowk, the central market of Pishin district in Balochistan, resulting in the deaths of 2 children and injuries to 14 others, including 2 police officers.
Station House Officer (SHO) of Pishin police station, Mujeeb-ur-Rehman, confirmed the incident and stated that the bodies and the injured have been transferred to the hospital.
He mentioned that the explosion occurred at Sar Khob Chowk in Pishin’s central market, resulting in the deaths of 2 children and injuries to 10 individuals, including 2 police officers.
He added that the condition of 4 injured, including 2 police officers, is critical, and they have been referred to Quetta’s hospital after initial medical treatment.
The police officer further informed that it appears the explosive device was planted on a motorcycle, causing damage to 3 vehicles.
SHO Mujeeb-ur-Rehman said that the Counter-Terrorism Department and the Bomb Disposal Squad have reached the scene to collect evidence for the investigation.
Meanwhile, the Medical Superintendent of Pishin Civil Hospital, Dr. Wakeel Sherani, reported that 2 children have died, and 14 individuals, including 2 women, have been injured.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi Condemn the Attack
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the explosion and expressed deep sorrow and grief over the martyrdom of the young children.
The Prime Minister prayed for the recovery of the injured, including the police officers. Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that the best medical facilities should be provided to the injured.
He stated that the perpetrators of the incident should be identified and brought to justice. He further mentioned that terrorists who attack children are not worthy of being called human beings.
Shehbaz Sharif reiterated that the fight against the scourge of terrorism will continue until it is eradicated from the country.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also condemned the explosion and expressed sorrow over the deaths of the 2 children in the attack.
Mohsin Naqvi prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured, including the police officers.
The Interior Minister stated that terrorists targeting innocent children do not deserve to be called human. He affirmed that the fight against terrorists and their facilitators will continue until they are eliminated.
Spokesperson of the Balochistan government, Shahid Rind, also condemned the explosion and expressed regret over the loss of precious human lives.
The provincial government spokesperson stated that anti-social, anti-state elements do not deserve any leniency, and terrorists are targeting innocent, innocent people to achieve their nefarious objectives.
Shahid Rind assured that the best medical facilities will be provided to those injured in the Pishin explosion.
It is worth noting that on August 14, a grenade attack in Quetta resulted in one death and injuries to 11 people, including children.
According to Dawn News, both grenade attacks occurred at two different locations near the railway station.
The first explosion took place on Zarghoon Road, while the second occurred near the railway station bridge.
All the injured were transferred to the hospital, where one succumbed to his injuries.
