Ishaq Dar Assures Complete Security to Engineers of Jagran 2 Hydropower Project

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has assured engineers and staff of full support and security to ensure the timely completion of the ongoing Jagran 2 Hydropower Project in Neelum, Azad Kashmir.

During his visit to the construction site of the Jagran 2 Hydropower Project in Neelum, Azad Kashmir, Ishaq Dar was briefed on the 50-megawatt project.

According to the statement, the construction of the Jagran 2 Hydropower Project will be completed by 2025. On this occasion, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed satisfaction with the project’s progress.

Ishaq Dar also met with the Chinese engineers and the Pakistani team working on the project, conveying the Prime Minister’s best wishes for the engineers and other staff.

Ishaq Dar stated that the completion of the project will create employment opportunities for the local population, promote education, agriculture, industrial development, and tourism.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar visited the Jagran 2 Hydropower Project today, where he was briefed on the construction of the 50-megawatt power plant under construction in Neelum district of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, the Deputy Prime Minister was informed about the project’s completion in 2025. The Deputy Prime Minister expressed satisfaction and praised the project’s progress. He also met with the Chinese engineers and the Pakistani team working on Jagran 2.

The Foreign Office spokesperson stated that the Deputy Prime Minister conveyed the Prime Minister’s best wishes to the engineers, technicians, and workers involved in the project.

It is worth noting that the previous day, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar visited the Jagran 1 Hydropower Plant in Neelum district of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and expressed satisfaction with the ongoing development work on the project.

The Deputy Prime Minister mentioned that the 30.4-megawatt hydropower project was conceptualized, approved, and financed during former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s tenure from 1997-1999, when he (Dar) was the Finance Minister.

Ishaq Dar conveyed his best wishes to the engineers, technical experts, and workers involved in Jagran 1 and expressed the full support of the Government of Pakistan for the project, which is contributing to Pakistan’s energy security.

On the other hand, the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson stated that the propaganda about Pakistan-China relations is completely false. The Chinese Foreign Ministry mentioned that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to China was a milestone and successful, which will bring prosperity to both countries and create numerous opportunities benefiting the people.
