Pakistan is Hopeful to Join BRICS: Mushahid Hussain Syed

PML-N leader Mushahid Hussain Syed has stated that Pakistan is hopeful about joining BRICS.

The ruling party of Russia, United Russia, hosted a two-day BRICS forum event in Vladivostok, a port city near North Korea and Japan.

In his speech at the event, Mushahid Hussain Syed said that Pakistan will be a strong voice for the oppressed as a member of the Security Council during 2025-26.

Mushahid Hussain mentioned that the global economic and political system has been disintegrating since the Second World War. Institutions like BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization will be the pillars of the new global order.

He added that the new global order will reject supremacy, military dictatorship, and double standards.

Mushahid Hussain welcomed the initiative taken by Russian President Putin on June 14 and praised President Xi Jinping’s efforts towards global security.

He thanked Russia and China for their principled stance on the Gaza genocide, stating that Israel has lost the war politically, morally, legally, and diplomatically.

Furthermore, he said that Israel’s supporters have been exposed due to their double standards and their support in the Gaza genocide.
