In the Paris Olympics, Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem qualified for the javelin throw final with a throw of 86.59 meters.

During the javelin throw competition at the Paris Olympics, India’s Neeraj Chopra achieved a throw of 89 meters on his first attempt, securing the first position. Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem, with a throw of 86.59 meters, stood in second place overall.

Speaking to journalists before departing for Paris, Arshad Nadeem said, “I am fully fit and well-prepared. I have worked very hard for this event, and I will make every effort to bring a medal for Pakistan. I believe I will succeed in my goal.”

It is noteworthy that Pakistan has not won a medal of any kind since the 1992 Olympics, but Pakistan’s esteemed athlete Arshad Nadeem is hopeful of bringing a medal for Pakistan in the French capital.

A seven-member team from Pakistan is participating in the 2024 Olympics, but all hopes are pinned on Arshad Nadeem to win a medal for Pakistan after 32 years.

Representing Pakistan in the Olympics, Arshad Nadeem had previously won a gold medal in the 2022 Commonwealth Games. However, he was unable to defeat India’s Neeraj Chopra in the 2023 World Athletics Championship and brought home a silver medal.

Arshad Nadeem achieved his best throw of 86.59 meters in the Olympics and qualified for the final round.

The final round of the javelin throw in the Paris Olympics will be held on August 8.

In the javelin throw qualification round held on Tuesday, Arshad Nadeem, included in Group B, needed to throw at least 84 meters to secure a direct place in the final. He qualified with a throw of 86.59 meters on his first attempt.

Arshad Nadeem will now compete in the final of the javelin throw event on August 8. This is Arshad Nadeem’s second consecutive final in the Olympics.

It is worth recalling that in the previous Tokyo Olympics, Arshad Nadeem secured the fifth position.
