The Anti-Terrorism Court has sent PTI spokesperson Rauf Hassan to jail on judicial remand, rejecting the request for physical remand.
In the terrorism case registered at the CTD police station for the recovery of explosive materials, PTI spokesperson Rauf Hassan was presented in the Anti-Terrorism Court after completing a one-day physical remand. On this occasion, Rauf Hassan’s lawyer, Ali Bukhari, appeared before the court.
During the hearing before Judge Tahir Abbas Supra of the Anti-Terrorism Court, the CTD requested a further 7-day physical remand for Rauf Hassan.
The court addressed the prosecutor, saying that the same remand request from the last hearing was resubmitted with some changes. The judge inquired whether the investigation was stuck at TTP or had progressed further. The prosecutor stated that further investigation was needed.
Rauf Hassan’s lawyer said that he wanted to raise a point on the previous hearing’s order. If account details were needed, they could be checked online. In response, Judge Tahir Abbas Supra remarked that as a senior lawyer, objections to the order should not be raised here but rather in the High Court. He inquired if Rauf Hassan’s CDR, bank transfers, or any meeting details had been extracted.
