Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit to be Held in Pakistan; Chinese Premier Confirms Participation

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit will take place on October 15 in Pakistan, with the Chinese Premier confirmed to attend.

Member states have begun confirming their participation for the SCO summit scheduled for October 15. The Chinese Premier will arrive in Pakistan on October 14 to attend the summit. However, confirmations from India and Russia have not yet been received by Pakistan.

SCO Summit: Pakistan Invites Indian Commerce Minister for Visit

Pakistan has extended an invitation to Indian Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Ministers of Commerce meeting.

According to details, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Ministers of Commerce meeting will be held next week in Islamabad. Pakistan has sent an invitation to Indian Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal for the visit.

Sources indicate that invitations have also been sent to Uzbekistan, Belarus, China, Tajikistan, and other countries. Ministers of commerce and economic affairs from Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states are expected to attend.

The meeting will focus on discussions regarding trade and economic cooperation among the member states. Recommendations from the ministerial meeting will be presented at the summit.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization Heads of Government Summit will be held in Islamabad in October. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also been invited to attend the summit.

Pakistan’s Interior Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to countering actions against the country’s peace and security and to crushing terrorist elements. He announced that Pakistan is set to host the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit and will not allow any disruptions to this significant event.

Senator Syed Mohsin Naqvi stated during a public session of the Senate in Islamabad on Friday that the recent wave of terrorist crimes in Pakistan aims to destroy the peace and tranquility of society and to disrupt the upcoming SCO summit, which Pakistan is hosting.

He added, “We will not allow anyone to disturb the country’s law and order or interfere with important international events in Pakistan. We are firmly committed to suppressing terrorists and will not permit any actions against security.”

The Interior Minister mentioned that they are aware of certain individuals’ activities aimed at preventing the important SCO summit from taking place. However, the summit will be held on schedule with full security and peace.

According to the report, the next meeting of the SCO Heads of Government will be hosted by the Government of Pakistan in mid-October in Islamabad.

Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Mumtaz Zahra, also announced during her weekly press conference yesterday that official invitations have been sent to SCO members for the Islamabad summit, and some countries have already confirmed their participation.
