Sher Afzal Marwat Releases by Islamabad Police After Arrest

Islamabad Police have arrested Sher Afzal Marwat, a leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) On the Violation of Section 144.

Later, a police spokesperson stated that PTI leader Sher Afzal Marwat had been released. He was released after assuring that he would not incite unrest.

A heavy contingent of police transferred Sher Afzal Marwat to the Golra Police Station after arresting him at Tarnol.

It should be noted that yesterday, the Islamabad administration imposed Section 144 in Punjab. However, Sher Afzal Marwat was present with some people and violated Section 144, leading to his arrest. Along with Sher Afzal Marwat, other PTI workers were also detained.

It is worth mentioning that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) postponed the rally scheduled in Islamabad today.

However, when PTI workers began gathering at Thokar in Lahore to depart for Islamabad, the police also gathered at Thokar to prevent them from traveling to Islamabad. The police detained two women, including the Lahore General Secretary of the Women’s Wing, and a driver.

In anticipation of a possible PTI rally, the administration and police placed containers on the main GT Road, causing significant difficulties for the general public. The rally venue was also dug up in anticipation of the event.

After the arrest, a large police contingent transferred Sher Afzal Marwat to Golra Police Station, and the arrest was confirmed via a tweet from his account. Earlier, PTI workers had gathered at Tarnol to participate in the rally, during which reports came in that arrests had been made from Express Chowk as well.
