It is worth recalling that on April 27, Session Judge Shakoorullah Marwat was kidnapped in Tank and was recovered two days later through a joint operation by police and law enforcement agencies.
Before his recovery, in a video statement sent from an unknown location, Shakoorullah Marwat said, “The Taliban have brought me here; this is a forest, and the war is ongoing.”
In a one-minute video message, the session judge said his release was only possible if the militants’ demands were met. He urged the federal and provincial governments, the Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court, and the Supreme Court of Pakistan to meet the Taliban’s demands to ensure his quick release.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police had reported that Session Judge Shakoorullah Marwat was traveling from Tank to Dera Ismail Khan when armed individuals kidnapped him from Dera Road, Bhagwal.
